ANFI TAURO – Gran Canaria

Optically amazing, set against different coloured layered rock in the mountains with water features, beautiful flowers, canyons, sea views and from very high up on the 13th hole an amazing panoramic view. The course is usually in wonderful condition and like Fontana, everything is defined.

PUNTA ESPADA – Dominikanische Republik

Almost every hole has a view to die for. Totally beautiful tropical coastal course with palm trees on top real estate. Sea views on many holes with 7 different shades of blue. The 350 dollar price tag is worth every cent. Don’t forget that everything is often included in the Caribbean, buggies, drinks, transfers and balls on the range.

3. LA CANA – Dominikanische Republik

Another fabulous Tropical Caribbean layout. The pleasure starts the moment you arrive and look out from the clubhouse and just doesn’t stop. A flat course but many holes that will stay in your mind especially the 3 finishing holes coming up the coast line and the picturesque par 3’s. Really stunning!

4. BLACK MOUNTAIN – Thailand (Hua Hin)

Ranked high on the Asia’s ‘top course list’ and famous for holding the EurAsia Cup (Europe V Asia) and other top events. A beautiful, gently rolling course with many wonderful features and boarded by delicate leafed Asian trees. Always in top condition.

5. LE PARADIS – Mauritius

A real paradise feel for golfers here on a golf course that has everything. Playing around a beautiful bay, often over water or streams and amongst tropical vegetation. Free for people staying at the hotel is a real bonus as is the view of the nearby rock mountain.

6. SUNNINGDALE (old course) – England

Where I played in 2 ‘Sunningdale Foursomes’ events and often with friends. One of the most enjoyable heathland courses you will ever play and also steeped in history.

BANYAN – Thailand Hua Hin

Located in a peaceful valley near Hua Hin, a world away from all troubles. I loved playing here, especially with my last round of 2 under par!

FÖHRENWALD – Osterreich

Surrounded by hills and mountains and using the landscape perfectly with a great mixture of holes. 8 time venue of the Ladies European tour ‘Austrian Open’. Where I worked 2011 – 2016 so maybe bias but I just love this course. Favours a draw.

APHRODITE HILLS – Zypern

A fascinating layout over rolling hills and canyons with a great sea view on the 8th. This course has many memorable holes.

NORTH BERWICK – Schottland

One of my favourite links courses where I nearly qualified for the British Open in 1987.

FONTANA – Osterreich

The venue of many men’s European Tour ‚Austrian Open‘ events. Every hole is so well defined and the many great holes you play will be easy to remember after the round. The view from the 17th tee is particularly spectacular.

LE TOUESSROK – Mauritius

On it’s own island where you have to take a boat to reach it is just the start of a wonderful experience. One of the must play course in the world. Take your camera.

PORTO SANTO – Madeira

Also on an island, a 2 hour ferry ride from Madeira this time, can be a little dry but you will be blown away but some holes on the back 9 overlooking the ocean, especially the 13th a drivable par 4 over the cliffs. Tip: Reserve for first class tickets in the ferry as early as possible.

CORALES – Doninikanische Republik

Owned by the members and only a few green fee players allowed each day means a perfectly manicured course. I have never played a course where a perfect shot to the green make no pitch mark but where the ball spins perfectly.

WENTWORTH – West Kurs (Burma Road) – England

The base for the BMW PGA Championships and the European Tour headquarters. Probably the best known club in England is steeped in tournament history. Also for many years the World Match-Play venue.

ATZENBRUGG (Diamond Kurs) – Osterreich

A wonderfully challenging course with water on most holes and now venue for the ‘Austrian Open’. Also a must play, especially after the recent course and clubhouse improvements.

SCHÖNBORN – Osterreich

A truly regal feel in a mature parkland setting. Has probably the most difficult first 5 holes in Austria and then doesn’t get much easier. How tough the course is though never spoils this wonderful experience.

Gullane Nr 1 – Schottland

Simply links golf at its best and purist.

ELEA – Zypern

Apart from a hilly last 3 holes, this gently undulating course is fun to play. The ball runs nicely and the greens also. Just avoid the many bunkers and you will have a good score.

LE NATIONAL – Frankreich (Paris)

A great course with good feature holes by the club house. This will be a perfect Ryder Cup setting in 2018 because of the many many natural viewing areas.

MOOR PARK – High Kurs

Where I played as a junior and unbeaten in the club junior matches. Very mature parkland course, not easy, especially the opening 3 holes, and venue in the 1980’s of european tour events.

SPRINGFIELD ROYAL – Thailand

This Jack Nicklaus course is a joy to play, not long but testing.

CARYA – Turkei

In my view the most enjoyable course to play in Belek.

PLAYA PARAISO – (Iberostar) Cancun, Mexiko

A well designed course using slopes well to provide an extra interest, especially on and around the greens it’s not always easy to get to the flag. Fun.
